War is Inevitable

It is inevitable in war that soldiers will give all,

 But it doesn't make it easier knowing when a soldier does fall.
Families are in mourning from the tragic loss,

And soldiers bow their heads at their fallen brothers cross.
A tear flows freely from the cheek of a troop,

 As he wipes it away with one quick swoop.
He wants to show his strength and not that he has weakness, 
When deep inside, his heart is a tortured mess. 
He lost a good friend, some say they were best.

 He's burying that same friend for eternal rest. 
He questions the lord and asks him

 “Why, why did you let this fine soldier die?”
He was a good man, a husband and dad;

Now the kids have to grow up without their loving dad. 
Sorrow fills their hearts and tears fill their eyes,

 Whenever a soldier, husband or dad dies. 

 The soldier will be missed their presence was treasured,
the soldier is gone, but will be forever remembered. 
He will live in your hearts; he will live in your minds,

 He will be with you through all the hard times. 
He was lost for a cause that no one will understand, but a soldier never asks questions, they all fight and stand.
